Booking and Pricing
Given the unique nature of hosting a conference on a Cruise Ship, we encourage you to read the FAQ's below.
How do I book my spot on the Caribbean Running Cruise?
You can book your spot through our website by filling out the registration form and completing the payment process. If you have questions about the booking process you can email runjared@gmail.com
Is the cost of the cruise included in the conference ticket?
No, you MUST book your cruise separately. You can use this link to head over to the carnival website and book your cruise. Make sure you are booking the correct date/ship.
Why are UGC (User Generated Content) videos required for some pricing tiers?
Our sponsors are key to making this event happen so we want to give them as much value back as possible. We also want to enhance the affordability of our event for attendees. In order to accomplish both of these things we've introduced an innovative approach linking lower-priced tickets with participation in UGC (User Generated Content) videos.
This initiative is designed to benefit both our attendees and sponsors in meaningful ways. Attendees gain access to reduced ticket prices, making the event more accessible, while sponsors receive high-quality, authentic content that showcases their products in real-world scenarios.
Our dedicated marketing team will be on-site throughout the event to handle all aspects of filming these UGC videos, ensuring the process is seamless and requires minimal effort from our attendees. Importantly, all videos will be voiceover-driven and produced off-site, eliminating any need for speaking parts from participants. This approach allows attendees to focus on enjoying the event and engaging with the content in a natural, comfortable setting, while still contributing to valuable marketing efforts.
By requiring participation in UGC videos for certain pricing tiers, we aim to foster a symbiotic relationship between our community and sponsors. This strategy not only helps in keeping the event costs manageable for our participants but also provides our sponsors with powerful marketing materials, capturing the essence of the Ultra Discomfort Running Cruise experience through the eyes of its participants.
Running and Activities
Are the runs at the port competitive races?
I love a good race as much as the next guy but that is not what this event is about. The port runs are designed to be group/community runs at a relatively relaxed pace. As we will be running in foreign countries, often times on trails or off the beaten path, you will be required to be running in a group of at least 4 at all times. Use these runs to get in quality miles with new friends.
We will have access to the routes before hand?
Yes, our team is working with locals now to build out multiple routes at each port (5, 10, 15 and 20 mile routes at each). Once we have finalized the routes we will add a page on the website outlining the routes. We will also be making these routes downloadable onto Garmin and other running watches so you can preload the routes in an effort to minimize the chance of getting lost.
Onboard Experience/Conference Questions
What kind of speakers and workshops can I expect?
We are still building out our speaker list but rest assured this will be a group of speakers you don't want to miss. The conference will feature a range of speakers, including elite athletes, renowned coaches, nutritionists, and motivational speakers. Workshops will cover topics such as training techniques, injury prevention, nutrition, and mental preparation for running.
Will there be any events on the ship outside of the conference?
Yes, absolutely! In addition to our engaging conference lineup, we've organized team dinners every evening. These dinners offer a fantastic opportunity for you to connect with fellow runners and conference attendees in a more relaxed setting. While attendance is entirely optional, these gatherings are a perfect way to share experiences, forge new friendships, and enjoy the camaraderie of the running community.
Moreover, the cruise ship itself is a hub of entertainment and activities. From captivating shows to a variety of onboard events, there's always something happening. We will coordinate group outings to enjoy these offerings together, allowing you to immerse yourself in the full cruise experience alongside like-minded individuals. Remember, participating in these extracurricular activities is optional—you're free to join in as much or as little as you like, ensuring your experience is tailored exactly to your preferences.
Health and Safety
Keeping our attendees safe both on and off the ship is our biggest priority.
What health and safety measures are in place for the conference?
There will be a required 1 hour safety meeting for all our guests to attend. During this meeting we will discuss our safety protocols in extreme depth. Your safety is our top priority during this event.
The cruise ship will have it's own safety rules and safety meeting that you will be required to attend as well.
What happens if the event is canceled or postponed?
In the unlikely event of cancellation or postponement, registered attendees will have the option to receive a full refund or transfer their registration to a rescheduled date.
